Ferryboat Inn, Helford Passage

The Inn dates back 300 years and is situated 5 minutes from Tresooth at the far end of Mawnan village. Surrounded by wooded banks and sloping fields, this is one of Cornwall’s most breathtaking locations. The pub’s terrace overlooks one of the best views in the South-West, and offers plenty of beach-side seating for long sunny days and warm evenings. In the winter months, you can make yourself at home near the open fire or relax with a drink at the bar. Dog friendly.

 The Boathouse, Falmouth

A licensed pub for over 300 years, The Boathouse is one of Falmouth’s favourite pubs and one of only a handful of independent, free houses remaining in the town. Cornwall Tourism Awards Pub of the Year 2023/3.

Slice Pizza Cornwall

Offering traditional, Italian-style pizzas, street food made to order and cooked in wood fired ovens. The pizzas have big flavours and delicate bases. Made with slow-rising sour dough,  carefully created homemade sauces, topped only with local ingredients such as Cornish slow cooked beef and pork, free range chicken and local cheeses such Cornish Blue, Yarg and a wonderful Cornish feta are regulars on the menu. Get your slice from the van in Mawnan village on Fridays and nearby Constantine on Saturdays. They even do a pizza box kit to make at your holiday home.

Hooked on the Rocks

Set in a stunning location overlooking nearby Swanpool Beach, this restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and specialises in daily seafood specials. The menu is locally sourced, sustainable wherever possible and takes inspiration from the rugged Cornish coastline surrounding the restaurant.

The Hidden Hut

Now this is one you have to plan in advance for! This is a master stroke of an eatery, whether you want soup and a sausage roll during the day, or join one of their summer evening feasts (book well in advance, always a sell out). By day they serve fresh seasonal lunches from an outdoor beach kitchen at Porthcurnick Beach on the Roseland peninsula, by night the hut hosts evening feasts where bringing  your own plate is expected and one dish is cooked per event showcasing the best local produce.

The Pier Cafe, Falmouth

A small café on one of Falmouth’s most recognized locations, The Prince of Wales Pier. It’s a renowned spot due to its 360 degree view of the harbour and its ongoing functionality as the ferry and pleasure boat landing.  This may be a small cafe but one that packs a punch. By day they serve delicious and wholesome breakfasts, lunches, coffees, cakes and cream teas.
